Finally you have a choice in time-tested Temephos larvicides. ProVect brand Temephos from the AllPro Vector Group is now available through B&G Chemicals and UNIVAR USA in a variety of formulations and carriers to best suit your application needs.

What is Temephos?
Temephos is a highly effective organophosphate larvicide used for control of mosquito, midge and black fly larvae. Temephos has played an important role in vector control since the EPA first registered the chemical in 1965. Temephos is one of the safest insecticides in the organophosphate class on mammalians and non-target species.

Lower AI Formula

ProVect is now available in a 0.48% Mini-G on our new "DG" (dispersible granule). The lower percentage of active ingredient means fewer "skips" and a more uniform distribution of the product. ProVect Mini-G also has a lower use rate than other temephos granules which means less active ingredient per acre while still providing exceptional results. The new label rate of 6.6 lbs/acre of Mini-G, or just 0.48 lb. active ingredient per acre means less environmental impact per treatment while providing excellent control at the same time.

Where Can ProVect Be Applied?
ProVect may be applied to non-potable waters including swamps, marshes, woodland pools, standing water, intertidal zone, tidal waters, catch basins, tire piles, highly polluted water and water high in organic content.

How Should ProVect Be Applied?
Provect may be applied though aerial application by fixed wing or rotary aircraft or by use of ground application equipment.

ProVect-A Resistance Management Tool

ProVect should be used in rotation along with insect growth regulators and bacterial larvicides to prevent or mitigate mosquito resistance. Good resistance management includes the use of pyrethroid adulticides in conjunction with ProVect, as well as periodic use of an organophosphate adulticide in a rotation program.

ProVect makes temephos easier than ever to apply. Used worldwide in mosquito abatement programs since 1965, temephos remains the gold standard of mosquito larvicides. Our new micro-prill DG carrier is less abrasive than sand, more free-flowing than other formulations, and is virtually dust-free. The spherical shape penetrates though dense foliage and readily dissolves in water. ProVect larvicides are available in 1%, 2%, 5% granules and as a 4E liquid. And now we offer a new 0.48% granule that result in fewer skips with a lower rate than other temephos granules.
